Editorial Work

Dr. Lozano has carried out comprehensive editorial work — including books, newsletters, communication materials, and lectures, for the United Nations as well as for academics from leading universities such as Harvard University, overseeing the full editorial process from early development through final production.

This work includes revising content for clarity and coherence, collaborating with authors on substantive revisions, and refining manuscripts to ensure conceptual consistency, precision, and accessibility for a broad readership. Dr. Lozano is responsible for both developmental and line editing, with close attention to style, structure, and accuracy.

Additionally, Lozano has experience developing reading comprehension activities for literary books adapted for learners of Spanish as a foreign language. These activities are tailored to help learners understand, interpret, and engage with literary texts while taking into account their language proficiency. By using adapted literature, Lozano ensures that learners can practice reading skills, expand vocabulary, and explore cultural and literary concepts in a way that is both accessible and pedagogically effective.

United Nations

Dr. Lozano served as the editor of a newsletter for the United Nations Spanish Translation Service. This publication was distributed internationally to translation services, providing updates, insights, and resources relevant to professional translators working within the UN system and beyond. Under his editorial guidance, the newsletter helped maintain high standards of linguistic accuracy and fostered communication among Spanish-language translation professionals worldwide.

Harvard University

Lozano edited the book Seeing the Other Side. Shifting Perceptions, by Dr. Mona Sue Weissmark. She coordinated all key aspects of the publication process. This includes managing multiple rounds of revisions, ensuring consistency in style, terminology, and references, and preparing manuscripts for publication. The role also encompassed the design of the book covers, developing visual identities that align with each publication’s scope and purpose.

Overall, this editorial work combines content development, editorial oversight, design, and production coordination, contributing to the clarity, coherence, and publication readiness of book-length works.

Finally, Lozano has extensive experience in self-publishing, overseeing the entire process from content creation and editing to design, formatting, and distribution.

I had the pleasure of working with Lidia Lozano, first as a student in my Harvard psychology course and later as my research assistant. In both roles, she demonstrated exceptional professionalism, intelligence, and dedication. She excelled at a wide variety of tasks, including editing my book, preparing annotated bibliographies, designing professional audiovisual materials for lectures and publications, and contributing to marketing and YouTube initiatives. Her work was consistently thorough, thoughtful, and of the highest quality, and she approached every project with care and enthusiasm. I highly recommend Lidia for any role that values initiative, reliability, and outstanding professional skills.Mona Sue Weissmark, PhD, Harvard University.
